Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made nine ambulance runs Friday, six Saturday and three Sunday.
At 11:51 a.m. Saturday units responded to a stove-top fire at 2219 16th St. Apt. D. They found light smoke throughout the structure and a small fire still burning in the range hood. The fire was extinguished and the apartment was ventilated. The flames had traveled up the wall and damaged the wood cabinets and vent hood and fan directly above the stove. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
At 5:19 p.m. Sunday, units responded to a small barrel of trash that was smoking. This was an unauthorized burning of trash.

Great Bend Police
Vehicles driven by Coletta Mogbo and Vernon Schmidt collided at 10:51 a.m. Friday at 2526 11th St.
Vehicles driven by Jason Black and James Winkle collided at 10:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of 10th St.
Newspaper racks at 3620 10th St. and 5200 10th St. were damaged and cash was stolen.
A narcotics case was taken.
Someone keyed a vehicle parked at Duke’s bar and grill at 619 Main St., Saturday afternoon. Loss was $500.
A woman was served a notice to appear in municipal court for alleged theft from Walmart.
Unknown persons were reportedly living in a house at 2303 Eighth St. while the occupants were out of town.
A vehicle driven by April Van Scyoc backed into a parked vehicle at 9:44 p.m. in the 2800 block of Ninth St.
A domestic case Saturday night in the 300 block of Fruit St. led to an arrest for battery and child endangerment, and the person who was arrested reported an aggravated assault for which no arrest was made at that time.
Shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report that windows at 1702 Main were shot out with a BB gun.
A broken window was discovered Sunday morning at a business at 504 Washington St.
Someone cut the lock off a Hutch News machine at 5200 10th St., taking money, it was reported Sunday.
Vehicles driven by Kurtis Mauler and Darrell Turley collided at 1:52 p.m. Sunday at Quail Creek Dr. and Timber Creek. There were minor injuries.
A motorist in a red sport utility vehicle drove away from Casey’s General Store, 1315 10th St., at 10:26 p.m. Sunday, without paying for 21 gallons of unleaded fuel valued at $71.

Barton County Sheriff
A rollover accident of East K-4 at NE 80 Ave. was reported at 7:43 a.m. Friday.
A rollover accident involving a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was reported at 10:43 p.m. Friday near Cheyenne Bottoms, at NE 40 Ave. and NE 50 Road. No one was around and the windows were broken when the vehicle was found. On Saturday morning an employee from Klima Well Service reported hearing that his work truck had been found on its top and asked to retrieve equipment.
A burglary was reported Saturday at 412 Wilkens St., Heizer.
A fire burning in a side yard in Pawnee Rock was reported at 8 p.m. Saturday. Due to the burn ban, this was an illegal fire.
A Chevy Impala hit a deer at 4:39 a.m. Sunday at NW 40 Ave. and East K-4.
A hawk flew into a pickup’s windshield at 1:29 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 111 of U.S. 281 (NW 70 Road and U.S. 281).
A deputy was dispatched to a rural address to assist the Hoisington Police Department, concerning a stolen washer possibly being at the rural location.
A 17-foot gray Gold Star trailer was reportedly stolen from 5503 Oil Center Road N sometime Saturday.
