Great Bend Fire DepartmentFirefighters made four ambulance runs on Friday, four Saturday, four Sunday and three Monday.Firefighters were dispatched to 103 Pine St. at 103 p.m. Friday, where some people were cooking over a fire in a barrel. The fire was put out.A resident at 1119 Washington St. smelled smoke and called the fire department at 1:11 a.m. Sunday. There was no fire, but a problem was found in the water heater, which was shut off.At 7:58 p.m. Monday, firefighters received a report of illegal burning in the 300 block of Main St. in Dundee, but they did not find anything.Great Bend PoliceThree forged checks were reported Monday at Ampride, 2302 10th St.A vehicle driven by Debra Holkin backed into a vehicle driven by Eugene Yarmer in the 1900 block of Main St. at 11:40 a.m. Monday.A gas skip at 1315 10th St. was reported at 3:18 p.m.Theft of copper wire from 601 Baker Ave. was reported.On Monday night, an individual reported a known person stealing his TV and speakers from a Great Bend residence.
