Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made three ambulance runs last Thursday, six Friday, 10 Saturday and four Sunday.
At 8:15 p.m. Thursday the department responded to the 400 block of Almond St. after a vehicle struck a gas meter. There was no leak, but the gas company was contacted.
At 9:36 a.m. Friday there was a false alarm at the Washington Early Education Center, 2525 Lakin Ave. Someone had pulled the alarm in a locker room; there was no fire. Firefighters also cleaned up a small gasoline spill at 3:20 p.m. Friday at Love’s Travel Shop, 1221 10th St.

Great Bend Police
Theft of money from 1018 Jefferson St. was reported Friday.
A known person allegedly shoplifted from Love’s, 1221 10th St.
Items were reportedly stolen from a vehicle at the Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St.
A suspect in a white truck allegedly stole fuel from Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St., around 10:37 a.m. Saturday.
A domestic call to the 1700 block of Cherry Lane at 9:07 a.m. Sunday resulted in Chad Wornkey’s arrest when he contacted the police at 9:30 a.m. He was booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of aggravated domestic battery, domestic violence, criminal damage to property, criminal trespassing and aggravated criminal threat, in lieu of $20,000 bond.
A vehicle allegedly driven by Jairo Martinez was southbound in the 1200 block of Frey St. at 9:21 a.m. Sunday when it struck a legally parked vehicle and left the scene. The vehicle and Martinez where located at 11:18 a.m.

Barton County Sheriff
A burglary at Michael’s Creative Landscaping & Designs, 400 South Patton Road, Great Bend, was reported Friday. Someone broke into the business Thursday night and took power tools and other items. The intruders apparently attempted to remove a compressor but ended up leaving it. The business was also broken into on July 9.
A non-injury accident was reported at noon Friday at NW 30 Road and NW 10 Ave.
A burglary at 310 Heizer St., Great Bend, was reported at 1:10 a.m. Sunday. The occupant reported being gone approximately 30 minutes and returned to find a door kicked in and the TV was gone.
A burglary was reported Sunday afternoon at 103 SE 60 Road. A 2008 Honda dirt bike was removed from a shed sometime between July 21 and the time of the report.
