Great Bend Fire/EMSFirefighters made three ambulance runs last Thursday, six Friday, 10 Saturday and four Sunday.At 8:15 p.m. Thursday the department responded to the 400 block of Almond St. after a vehicle struck a gas meter. There was no leak, but the gas company was contacted.At 9:36 a.m. Friday there was a false alarm at the Washington Early Education Center, 2525 Lakin Ave. Someone had pulled the alarm in a locker room; there was no fire. Firefighters also cleaned up a small gasoline spill at 3:20 p.m. Friday at Love’s Travel Shop, 1221 10th St.Great Bend PoliceTheft of money from 1018 Jefferson St. was reported Friday.A known person allegedly shoplifted from Love’s, 1221 10th St.Items were reportedly stolen from a vehicle at the Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St.A suspect in a white truck allegedly stole fuel from Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St., around 10:37 a.m. Saturday.A domestic call to the 1700 block of Cherry Lane at 9:07 a.m. Sunday resulted in Chad Wornkey’s arrest when he contacted the police at 9:30 a.m. He was booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of aggravated domestic battery, domestic violence, criminal damage to property, criminal trespassing and aggravated criminal threat, in lieu of $20,000 bond.A vehicle allegedly driven by Jairo Martinez was southbound in the 1200 block of Frey St. at 9:21 a.m. Sunday when it struck a legally parked vehicle and left the scene.
