Barton County Sheriff
A burglary or attempted burglary at 100 Patton Road, Great Bend, was reported Thursday. Someone tried to break into the building and the back door was open.
Lightning struck a tree at 11:07 a.m. at NW 110 Ave. and NW 150 Road, starting a fire.
A house at 214 Jackson St., Great Bend, was broken into and an individual had suspects detained there at 2:37 p.m.

Great Bend Police
Items were stolen from a vehicle at 5936 Broadway Ave., it was reported Thursday.
All of the tires on a 2011 Ford Mustang at 1514 11th St. were damaged. Loss was $400.
A theft was reported at Walmart Supercenter, 3503 10th St., and a suspect was served a notice to appear in municipal court.
Vehicles driven by Rosa Prieto and Galen Lloyd collided in the 3500 block of 10th St. at 5:10 p.m.
Stereo equipment was reportedly stolen from a vehicle at 5930 16th St. Terrace.
A man was arrested at 1:52 a.m. Friday for an alleged weapons violation at Charle’s Place bar, 1109 Main.
