Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made six ambulance runs Friday, eight Saturday and two Sunday.
At 6:04 p.m. Friday they checked on a smoke smell on the second floor of Heartland Regional Medical Center at 514 Cleveland. It was coming from a burned up motor in a large air conditioning unit on the roof.
At 4 p.m. Saturday they responded to a grass fire at 56 NE 40 road. They found some CRP grass burning in a field by the Walnut Creek bed. There were several trees and logs that were burning as well. The cause of the fire was unknown. The fire damaged an electrical box on a pole owned by Wheatland Electric. Units were on the scene for approximately two hours.
On Sunday there was one false alarm and one call for a carbon monoxide check, in addition to a pickup fire at 9 p.m. in the 2600 block of Forest Ave.

Barton County Sheriff
A burglary was reported Friday at 101 Rock St. in Pawnee Rock. A front window was broken and items were taken from the residence.
Theft of items from the business at 19 Hirsch Ave. in Ellinwood was reported.   
Someone broke into a building sometime last Friday night at 1244 NW 50 Ave., gaining entry through a boarded up window and taking items.
A vehicle hit a deer at 9:11 p.m. Saturday on NE K-156 at mile marker 131.
Officers received reports Saturday night of plans for a large party with underage drinkers at the Diversion Dam, 465 WO 60 Ave.
At 5:06 p.m. Sunday, officers received a report of grocery carts on U.S. 281 near the brick plant. It was speculated that they came from an abandoned white pickup that was parked nearby.

Great Bend Police
A burglary was reported Friday at 301 Buckeye St. Someone entered the residence on April 24 and took personal checks. The victim also reported forged checks were written at two Great Bend businesses without her permission.
Vehicles driven by Renee Phillips and Jesus Leon collided at 5:28 p.m. at Love’s Country Store, 1221 10th St.
A $43 gas skip involving a maroon Grand Prix was reported at 6:06 p.m. at 1315 10th St.
Damage to property at 2709 Broadway Ave. was reported.
An aggravated assault in the area of Ninth and Washington was reported at 7:20 p.m.
Theft of Kansas license tag 547-FTF was reported Saturday.
A nude male was reportedly walking in the 1000 block of Eisenhower Ave. at 2 p.m. Saturday.
An employee allegedly stole $300 cash from the business at 3929 10th St.
A criminal trespass by a known male and female in the 300 block of Maple St. was reported at 2:27 p.m., with the suspects allegedly threatening to kill the reporting party. Cassandra “Sandra” Sexton was located in the 2700 block of Morton St. and arrested at 6:54 p.m. on a charge of criminal threat.
Vehicles driven by Mary Beuoy and Itzel Garcia collided at 4:17 p.m. at 3413 10th St.
On Saturday police were notified that someone took several items out of the store at 3503 10th St. several days earlier.
Someone damaged a car parked at 1515 Morphy St., it was reported Sunday.
A Toro lawn mower was reportedly stolen from 2421 Shawnee Dr. Loss was $300.
Doors on a storage building at 5210 10th St. Apt. 2 were damaged.
