Barbara Sue Lohrding, 81, passed away February 25, 2021, in Great Bend.  She was born July 10, 1939, in Cambridge, to R.C. and Sue (Holman) Wadleigh. 

Barbara, a Great Bend resident since 1970, coming from Coldwater, owned and operated Forever Country antique shop for many years.  Antique collecting was her life’s zeal, however, Barbara’s heartfelt passion was showing kindness to others, doing her part to make the world a better place.  She was especially proud of her grandchildren, staying in touch with them, even though they were separated by many miles.

Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Lohrding and wife Darby of Lecompton; one daughter, Linda Afzal and husband Tariq of Tampa, Fla.; one sister: Carol Kern and husband Jim of Jenks, Okla.; three grandchildren, Mariam Afzal, Aadam Afzal and Aziza Afzal; two nephews Greg Wadleigh and wife Tammy, and Brent Wadleigh and wife Sara; and two nieces, Missy Kern Hill and husband Randy, and Paula (Wadleigh) Hansen and husband Steve.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ron Wadleigh, Robert “Bob” Wadleigh and Richard “Dick” Wadleigh.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge, with Rev. Marsha Granberry presiding.  Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to Barton County Food Bank, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
