Benny M. Williams 1957 - 2014

Benny M. Williams, 57, of Great Bend , passed away on Oct. 22, at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Born on Jan. 12, 1957, in Vallejo, Calif., he was the son of Benny O. and Jacqueline D. (Mayfield) Williams. After graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he spent the next two years. Following his discharge from the Navy, he worked in Navy shipyards in Los Angeles, Calif. and San Diego, Calif. He later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was united in marriage to Diane L. Roberts on April 22, 1979. The couple moved to Kansas from Tulsa, Okla. in 1987, where Benny worked as a Corrections Officer at the Winfield Correctional Facility in Winfield, for eight years.  The couple then moved to Great Bend.  
Benny enjoyed his grandchildren and traveling when the couple was able.
Survivors include his wife, Diane L. Williams of Great Bend; one son, Brandon Williams of Great Bend; three daughters, April and Amy Williams, both of Great Bend, and Ronnie Lynn of Tulsa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; his father, Benny O. Williams of San Diego, Calif.; and two sisters, Kathy Bann and her husband Gary of Carrie, N.C. and Karen Lynch of Winfield. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline D. Williams.
