FORT DAVIS, Texas — Charles Bruce Colvin, 69, died April 23 at Lubbock, Texas. He was born July 10, 1943, at Great Bend, the son of William Bear and Norma Lee Harold Colvin. His stepfather was W.M. Colvin.
He was a graduate of Ellinwood High School and Colorado College. A Fort Davis, Texas, resident for nine years, he previously lived in Alpine, Texas, New York, N.Y., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Baltimore, Md., he retired after 32 years as a professor in the Department of Art History and Design at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Survivors include a sister, Lynn and Gary Huncovsky of Agenda; two aunts, Ruby Herold of Longmont, Colo., and Mitzi Colvin of Tulsa, Okla.; an uncle, Don Herold of Wichita; a niece, Christine Huncovsky of Overland Park; a nephew, Todd (Amy) Huncovsky; and five great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 3, in Barton County, with the Rev. Kasey Crobsy and Willie Dunlap officiating. Those wishing to attend should call Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood for details. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving from 6-7 p.m., at Kimple Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Ellinwood Public School and Library Foundation.
