Cleora V. Tiede, 75, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Born Dec. 24, 1935, at Beaver, she was the daughter of Rudolph J. and Mollie (Radke) Hickel.

She married James Roger Tiede Oct. 12, 1967, at Great Bend. She was a claims processor for Barton County Farm Bureau.

Mrs. Tiede was a lifetime Barton County resident. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Bowling Hall of Fame. She was past president and secretary of Great Bend Women’s Bowling Association, and was coach of Association of Junior Bowling Congress and Young American Bowling Association. She enjoyed archery, camping, going to the lake, baby sitting Rene’s dogs, making angels, playing scrabble, and was a computer enthusiast.

Survivors include: Her husband James Tiede, of the home; one daughter, Rene Tiede of Great Bend; one sister, Janett Cook and husband Ronald "Squeak" of Hays; one brother, Norman Hickel and wife Merlinda of Great Bend; one granddaughter, Shanna P. Tiede and fiancé Stephen Long. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Patrice Rene Tiede; four brothers, Rudolph Hickel Jr., Edward Hickel, Eldon Hickel, and infant brother Robert; and one infant sister, Wilma.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 3, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Panther Bowling Boosters or Central Kansas USBC Youth Bowlers, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
