MOUNDRIDGE — Coila Joyce Fitzsimmons, 84, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Pine Village in Moundridge. She was born on July 3, 1937 at her home in Macksville to Harry C. and Nellie (Johnson) Johnson. Coila married Otis Darrell Keen in Trousdale and had three children together. She later married John “Jack” Leslie Fitzsimmons on Aug. 15, 1976 in Trousdale. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1998.

Coila graduated Trousdale High School in 1955. She was a member of Cunningham Methodist Church, Cairo EHU, Cunningham Garden Club and Haviland Medicine Valley Club. She enjoyed gardening, playing pool and attending her grandchildren’s school activites. She was an avid seamstress and photographer and entered many of her pieces in the county fairs and Kansas State Fair.

She is survived by her children, Wayne (Elizabeth) Keen of Morrison, Okla., Daniel (Tammy) Keen of Cunningham and daughter, Renita (David) Stos of Moundridge; sisters, Louise Snook of Great Bend and Marieta Johnson of Inman; brother in-law, Hardy Morris of Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, DaWayne (Britteny) Stos of Moundridge, Devon (Brianna) Stos of Moundridge, Amy (Aaron Shirley) Keen of Wichita, Danielle (Angel Sylvia) Stos of Moundridge, Brian Keen of Texas, Travis (Allison) Keen of Coldwater, Tommy Keen of Garden City, Julie (Tommy) Whiteworth of Wichita and Jesse Koehler of Cunningham; stepdaughters, Suzan Anderson and Cindy Ball; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Coila is preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Fitzsimmons; parents; sister, Phyllis Morris; brother, Cecil Johnson; sister in-law, Vickie Johnson; daughter in-law, Lois Keen; and stepsons John Fitzsimmons, Jr and James Fitzsimmons.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. with funeral service starting at 2 p.m., all at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt with Pastor Louis Keeling presiding.
