BUSHTON — Dean Carter, 76, died March 13 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Anthony, the son of Richard and Pauline (Haskins) Carter. He graduated from Marshfield (Mo.) High School and served in the U.S. Army Airborne Division. He married Audrey Beneke on June 3, 1962. He was a farmer and dairyman.
Mr. Carter was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Classic Chevy Club and past Eureka Township board member.
Survivors include his wife Audrey; a son, Darrin Carter, Salina; a daughter, Darla, Doha, Qatar; two brothers, Darrell Carter, Fairgrove, Mo., and Marlin Carter, Springfield, Mo.; twin sister, Mabel Masters, Marshfield, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. John Schmitt officiating. Burial is scheduled at Bushton Cemetery with Fort Riley military honors. Visitation is scheduled from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.
