Elaine L. Johnson, 80, died Jan. 12 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born March 21, 1931, at Alva, Okla., she was the daughter of James Arthur and Lorinda L. (Mason) Lane. She married Harold Johnson on Dec., 21, 1947, at Alva, Okla. A Great Bend resident since 1999, coming from South Fork, Colo., and Macksville, she worked at the Larned Greenhouse and was a clerk for Food 4 Less and Dillon’s in Great Bend.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Great Bend. She was a former member of O.E.S. and enjoyed knitting, playing piano, visiting with family and friends, and especially enjoyed flowers.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; one daughter: Jane Howard of Great Bend; and one grandson, Bart Howard and wife Brooke, of Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by one son, James "Jim" Johnson, and grandson, Mason Howard.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home. Private family inurnment at Great Bend Cemetery North will be at a later date. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Friday.
