LARNED — Ellen L. Boyd, 88, died Monday, May 2 at her son’s home in Great Bend.
She was born August 9, 1922 at Burrton, the daughter of Floyd and Edna (Shinn) Cochran. A resident of Larned since 1947, moving from Wichita, she was a retired Licensed Mental Health Technician at Larned State Hospital.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a pianist and also served in the First Baptist Women’s Organization, and LI-AR-MU, all of Larned.
On June 11, 1943 she married Dale Orville Boyd at Monterey, Calif. He died Feb. 20, 1997.
Survivors include: two sons, Steve, Great Bend, and Scott, Des Moines, Iowa; and four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, Morris, Marion, Elmo and Elton Cochran.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Larned City Cemetery, Larned with Rev. Charley Price presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned.
