LARNED — Grace Lucille Baugher, 101, died Feb. 16 at Diversicare of Larned. Born May 19, 1912, at Burdett, she was the daughter of John Ora and Ida Bauer Line. A lifetime area resident, she was a cook for USD 495 and she loaded 20 mm shells during the war. She also loved to dance and play cards. On Nov. 23, 1931, she married Dillwyn Shay Baugher in Dodge City. He passed away Sept. 13, 1981.
Survivors include, a son, Dillwyn (John), of Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Cynthia Kay Mull of Larned; four grandchildren, Tamzen Bright, Ty Mull, Shannon Wells, and Jacob Baugher; and six great-grandchildren, Kenda and Kale Bright, Chloe Wells, Olivia Mull, and Sophia and Anthony Baugher. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Sutton, Mildred Line and Elinor Lewis.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Brown’s Grove Cemetery in Burdett, with the Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned. Burial will be at the Brown’s Grove Cemetery in Burdett.
