John A. Foos 1944 - 2011

John A. Foos, 67, died March 19 at the Ellsworth Good Samaritan Retirement Center in Ellsworth. Born March 2, 1944, in Bazine, he was the son of John B. and Esther (Foos) Foos Jr. A longtime resident of Great Bend, coming from LaCrosse, he was a truck driver.

Mr. Foos was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his companion Sharolyn Bennett, of the home, and her son Chris Hughes of Great Bend; a sister, Darlene Delaney and husband Clayton of Great Bend; a grandson, Dylon Hughes of Park City; a nephew, Dan Delaney and wife Diane of Great Bend; a niece Sheryln Delaney of Overland Park; special friend, Kent Schartz of Great Bend; and his dog Sugarbear.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Bazine Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the First Street Church of God in care of the funeral home.
