GREAT BEND — John L. Welcher, 60, passed away Sunday morning, June 11, 2017, at his home in Great Bend.
John was born on Aug. 23, 1956, at Los Angeles, Calif. to Sam L. and Millie (Tyler) Welcher. He was united in marriage to Susanne Kay Renchko on Jan. 6, 1973, in Los Angeles County, Calif., and they moved to Great Bend in 1982. John formerly worked as a cashier at Dillons in Great Bend for 11 years and later worked for Venture Corporation in Great Bend for 12 years. John loved to go fishing, loved watching TV, and enjoyed going for a drive.
John is survived by his wife, Susanne K. Welcher, Great Bend; two sons, Kevin Lee Welcher, Hays; and Matthew Cane Welcher, Great Bend; his mother, Millie Macey, Great Bend; a brother, Tom (and his wife, Debbie) Welcher; and a sister, Sally Welcher all of Great Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been chosen. No services have been planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the Golden Belt Humane Society of Great Bend, Kansas.
