OLATHE — Kimberly Johnson Faber, 36, of Olathe, went to run free in the pastures of Heaven on Thursday, May 26, 2011, with her loving husband David W. Faber at her side. She spent the last few years of her life traveling from one coast to another with her husband, Dave, and extraordinarily loyal dog, Koko. This travel highlighted a cornerstone of Kim’s essence: living life to the fullest. Another passion of hers was appreciating all of God’s creations, but she especially relished the opportunity to work with horses—admiring their strength and grace (the same qualities people appreciated in her). Kim effortlessly embraced living passionately; those sharing the honor of knowing her understand the beautiful person she was. Kim will always be "A carefree, fun-loving woman who is worthy of acceptance."

Along with her husband, survivors include her parents, Roy Johnson (father) and Margaret Potter (mother) and their spouses, Patti Johnson and Joseph Potter; siblings Kelly (Johnson) Van Deventer and her husband Jeremy, Jeff Potter and his wife Christine, Courtney Johnson, Jay Potter and Kyle Johnson; six nieces and one nephew. Her sister, Kristin Potter, preceded her in death. Thanks to all for your prayers and support, as well as a special thank you to the caregivers from Kansas City Hospice House, who helped Kim during her final days.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday. The family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Kimberly Johnson Faber to the Kansas City Hospice House at https://www.kansascityhospice.org/Donate-DonateOverview/Index.htm or the animal rescue organization, RescueMe.Org at https://www.world.org/rescueme?horse.
