GREAT BEND – Marilyn K. Preston, 72, died Nov. 12, 2014 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born Oct. 20, 1942 at Winfield, the daughter of Otis and Opal (Babcock) Ordway.
She married Richard C. Preston, M. D., Feb. 23, 1960 at Hutchinson. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Preston was a Great Bend resident since 1977, coming from West Point, N.Y. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was involved in women’s activities, and the Central Kansas Medical Center Auxiliary, Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Richard C. Preston, of the home; two daughters, Amy Guthrie and her husband Britt, Stillwater, Okla.; and Anne Paden and her husband Bill, Great Bend; a daughter-in-law, Celesa Preston, Great Bend; a twin sister, Carolyn Keener, Wichita; nine grandchildren, Jordan Preston, Jaiden Preston, Jesse Preston, Timothy Schroeder, Garrett Guthrie, Gavin Guthrie, Austin Paden, Branden Paden, and Donovan Paden; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jay Robin Preston.
Funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Great Bend First Congregational United Church Of Christ with Pastor Amy Foster officiating. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home.
Memorial funds are suggested to the Sunflower Shrine Travel Fund or First Congregational United Church of Christ, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
