Phyllys Nadine Yeager 1926-2012

LARNED — Phyllys Nadine Yeager, died May 27, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Plattsmouth, Neb.
Born May 14, 1926 in Mount Hope, she was the daughter of Lester Ellis and Florence Birdine (Schnieder) Sweetland. On March 14, 1948, she married James N. “Jim” Yeager in Larned. He died July 27, 2002. They lived in Great Bend until 1972, and then moved back to Larned. She was employed by USD 428 as the school secretary at Jefferson Elementary School and at the Jordaan Memorial Library in Larned.
Mrs. Yeager was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend, where she sang in the church choir many years, and the First Presbyterian Church in Larned. Between 1965 and 1974, she was a loyal Argonne Rebels Booster, she was a drum corps mother and drum corps spouse.
Survivors include two sons, Joe, Overland Park; and Jeff and wife Jan, Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren, Patrick Yeager, Rose Haven, Md., Leah Schmit,Omaha, Neb. and Laura Yeager, Lees Summit, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 4 at the First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Dennis Scheibmeir presiding. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday.
