Shirley Ann Peters, 83, died May 23 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 1, 1928 in Ulysses, she was the daughter of Lamont and Marcella (Crebs) Rowland. On April 5, 1991 she married G. Darrell Peters in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend since 1945, coming from Burrton, she was a secretary and bookkeeper for Peters Drilling Company.

Mrs. Peters was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include her husband, G. Darrell Peters, of the home; a daughter, Debbie Bulcao of Great Bend; a brother, Allen Hatch of San Mateo, Calif.; a step-son, Michael Peters of McPherson; three step-daughters, Beverly Shackelford and Debbie Elliot, both of Dallas, Texas, and Becky Young of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Cheri Warford of Pomona, Calif., Jason Scott of Fontana, Calif., Amanda DeLong of Manila Ark., and Christina Bulcao of Great Bend; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Dodge City, at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Barton County Historical Society or Golden Belt Humane Society, all in care of the funeral home.
