LA CROSSE — Terra Maryha Helm, 37, died on July 8 at her home. Born March 28, 1975 in Bath, Maine, she was the daughter of Mark A. and Katherine M. (Steadman) Helm Fisher. She moved from her birthplace of Bath, Maine, at an early age. A former resident of Great Bend, Hays and Wichita, she was a resident of La Crosse since her high school graduation from La Crosse High School in 1993.
Miss Helm was a CNA at the Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse for several years.
Survivors include two daughters, Tayci K. Helm of Great Bend and Valerie Walling of Wichita; her father, Mark Helm and his wife Sheila of Great Bend; step-father Jim Fisher of Bison; three brothers, Joshua Helm, and his wife, Stacia Helm of Wichita, Henry Lee Fisher and his wife Shally Fisher of Tonganoxie and James S. Fisher, and his wife, Mary of Eudora; two sisters Rachel Shorter, and her husband Jordan Shorter of Great Bend and Sara Linenberger of Del Rio, Texas; and maternal grandparents, Bill and Wilma Steadman of Great Bend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine (Steadman) Helm Fisher; and her paternal grandparents, Carl and Melba Helm.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse with Father Steven Little officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend City Cemetery in Great Bend. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse with family receiving friends from 6  to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to The Tayci Helm Education Fund.
