Dear editor,

First Congregational United Church of Christ recently held a fundraiser to help with medical expenses for one of our longtime members and her family. We planned a potato bar and silent auction. We were amazed and pleased with the generosity of the community, the surrounding communities, and businesses. So many people donated with loving hearts, far beyond the cost of a potato bar dinner. Businesses donated items for the auction or money.

We want to thank everyone for their kindness and participation. It was truly an example of the goodness of people who want to help in unfortunate circumstances. One can only hope that this generosity is typical of humans everywhere.

First Congregational United Church of Christ thanks everyone who participated, helped with, or donated to this event.
