HOISINGTON — The date for the 69th annual Hoisington Chamber of Commerce Banquet has been set for Saturday, Jan. 31.
Hoisington Chamber Executive Director Karen Baldyga said that as in past years, the event will take place at the Hoisington Columbus Club, 114 N Main, beginning with cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. The dinner begins at 6:30, followed by the annual program.
“At that time, we will officially bid farewell to our outgoing board directors and warmly welcome the new directors who will set the strategic course for the coming year,” Baldyga noted. “This banquet is the perfect opportunity to network, celebrate community successes and reinforce the value of continued membership.” Entertainment for the evening will be provided by DJ Tyler Morton. 2025 Citizen of the Year
Meanwhile, the Chamber has begun accepting nominations for the Hoisington Citizen of the Year.
“Every year, Hoisington thrives thanks to the dedication of individuals who go above and beyond for our community, and now it is time to give them the recognition they deserve,” Baldyga said.
Nominees should be Hoisington individuals who demonstrates outstanding public service to the community.
They may serve as a community volunteer working with nonprofit organizations, the school district or in the business community. Nominees are those who consistently go above and beyond the responsibilities of their paid employment. Nominees should also reflect actions and contributions made within the past year, rather than from prior years. “While we value long-term excellence, this nomination is intended to recognize excellence within the last year,” Baldyga said.
Nominees need not be residents of Hoisington, but must serve the city in some capacity.
Nominations will be accepted until Jan. 16. Past winners are not eligible.

Nominees will be announced on Jan. 19, and voting will be open by using one of the methods above. Voting will close on Jan. 28.
All residents of Hoisington or those with a Hoisington zip code are eligible to vote for a nominee.
The winner will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Banquet, where they will receive a plaque in recognition of their service to the community.
In addition, the 2025 Citizen of the Year will participate in the 130th Annual Labor Day parade in September.
