Rosewood Miracle Workers Aktion Club is conducting a coloring book and crayon drive to benefit children. New crayons and coloring books can be dropped off at Rosewood’s two retail stores in downtown Great Bend – Rosewood Furniture Gallery and Rosewood Wine Cellar.
The items will be collected through Sept. 30 and then donated to Barton County Health Department and St. Francis Community Services, both located in Great Bend. Rosewood Aktion Club is also accepting monetary donations, which can be dropped off at its two retail locations as well, that will go toward purchasing coloring books and crayons.
Rosewood Aktion Club is an affiliate of the national Kiwanis organization that promotes service in action for people with developmental disabilities. The area club allows Rosewood clients to be actively involved in the community and to positively impact the lives of others, said club sponsor Frankie Pelster.
“I’m proud of our Aktion Club members for taking the lead on this fund drive,” Pelster said. “They are eager and excited to make a difference in the lives of area children. Any support they receive by the community to successfully accomplish their coloring book drive will be much appreciated by them and by me.”
