After more than eight years of helping seniors live well and age well, Almost Home will close its doors on Oct. 31. Residents, families and staff have been notified of this news and will continue to be supported through this upcoming transition, founder Leilani Schenkel and the board of directors announced.

“This announcement is made with great sadness but due to sustained staffing shortages, we are unable to recruit and retain the staff and leadership necessary to continue providing high-quality elder care as is our mission.

“This decision was not made lightly. As a non-profit, the board thoughtfully considered several other options. However, a suitable solution that would allow operations to continue long-term did not materialize.

“Thank you to our community and many friends and supporters who have made our mission and ministry possible over the past eight years. We strongly believe that our work during this time has raised the level of quality care provided in our community. None of this would have been possible without your commitment to our mission to help seniors live well and age well.”
