The 2024 IGNITE Rural Business Competition announces the semi-finalists who are advancing to the next stage of this year’s event. As the competition narrows the field in preparation for the live finals on Oct. 10, at the historic Crest Theater in downtown Great Bend, these talented entrepreneurs have stood out for their innovation, dedication, and potential for growth.

The semi-finalists, who have successfully submitted their video pitches and competition materials, are now actively working with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and have been matched with industry-specific business mentors. They are receiving continued support to refine their business plans and strategies.

The businesses advancing to the semi-final round are:

• Kameron Keener, K617 Custom Coatings

• Candace Tomlin, Mama T’s

• Paxton Rein, Proper Boards & Picnics

• Ana Hayson, Rana Luna Balloons

• Danielle Lee, Ruhe Rituals

• Elle Slater, Saving Face Aesthetics Lounge

• Matthew Gerrtzen, Sundown AgriSupply LLC.

In this round, the semi-finalists will be interviewed by the IGNITE selection committee, with up to five of the best moving forward to the final round. These finalists will compete live for the top prizes of $50,000, $30,000, and $10,000.

The IGNITE Rural Business Competition is a dynamic platform aimed at empowering entrepreneurs in Barton County. It encourages creativity, innovation, and community engagement, offering valuable grants to deserving businesses to fuel their growth and success.
