The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development will present “The Art of Community” art contest in conjunction with the 2018 Chamber Banquet scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018. Barton County high school students are encouraged to participate in this opportunity of expression and creativity. Top winners will receive cash prizes in addition to numerous other perks and recognition.
“The Art of Community” contest invites participants to use their medium of choice to illustrate the beauty and imagery of their community. Participants may focus on the central Kansas landscape, industries of agriculture, oil or cattle, landmarks, buildings, or even the people within the community.

“There is so much beauty in the people, places, and industry of our community. We are excited to see what it looks like through the eyes of our youth,” said Andrea Bauer, the Chamber’s director of business development. More information can be found at GreatBend.org or on the Chamber’s Facebook Page. The contest is open now through Dec. 15 with entries being received at art@greatbend.org.
The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development looks forward to showcasing dozens of creative students from Barton County at the Chamber Banquet in 2018. Artists will also be featured on the Chamber website and in future print materials.
This contest is presented by “Art Ally Sponsors” Watkins Calcara Chtd. and Brick Alley Creative Studio.
