Conference to deal with ecommerce

HAYS – Registration opened on July 25th for the 2011 Kansas Jubilee: eBay to eCommerce. This national conference will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at Fort Hays State University’s Memorial Union Conference Center, 600 Park St., Hays. A grassroots initiative sponsored in part by Fort Hays State University School of Business and supported by the FHSU Small Business Development Center, this two-day event will cover topics ranging from eBay to other ecommerce venues to social networking for business and independent sellers who wish to sell online.
It also will be of interest to chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, small business development centers, and other agencies that assist small and micro businesses in developing a plan for expansion into ecommerce.
Leading experts from across the USA will be coming to Kansas to share their knowledge, including eBay top-rated sellers and eBay staff, along with Amazon, Etsy, Bonanza, Addoway, and other ecommerce authorities. Also featured will be workshops on optimizing social networking for ecommerce, product sourcing for new and expanding sellers, and search engine optimization. A Basics of eBay Selling course will be held on Friday only. Dedicated networking sessions and round-table interaction with the experts will round out the event’s offerings.
Among the Kansas Jubiliee’s speakers and presenters are Jim “Griff” Griffith, Senior Manager for Seller Advocacy at eBay, author of The eBay Bible, and Dean of eBay University; Rich Matsuura of eBay; and Cliff Ennico, attorney, small-business tax expert, and author of The eBay Business Answer Book and Small Business Survival Guide, will discuss online tax responsibility. Kathy “Kat” Simpson, an eBay PowerSeller with more than 15,000 feedback, will discuss optimizing business on eBay. Fredrick Nijm, MBA and co-founder of Addoway, will discuss social networking for profit as well as Addoway itself. Judy Oglesby will represent the Bonanza selling platform.
