HOISINGTON – Recently the CPI Barton County Endowment awarded a $5,000 grant to support the renovation of Hoisington’s Pride Park. Originally the endowment committee challenged the City of Hoisington and the FOCUS Committee to raise an initial $10,000 in order to receive the CPI Endowment grant. The city successfully met the challenge and all of the funds raised help support the updates to and renovation of Pride Park.
Since the CPI Barton County Endowment Fund was established in 2009, the endowment has awarded $22,410 to charitable projects in Ellinwood, Great Bend, and Hoisington. With each grant awarded, CPI will further its corporate philanthropy and community involvement. CPI hopes other firms in our community will take the initiative to establish a donor advised fund to help provide future funds for charitable giving.
To involve CPI’s employees in giving and to simplify the giving process, CPI chose to manage its giving through a donor advised fund at the Golden Belt Community Foundation (GBCF). Corporate donor advised funds allow a company to make a charitable gift, establish a fund in the company’s name, and remain involved by recommending grants to charitable agencies or projects. Each year CPI employees make grant recommendations to the GBCF Board of Directors regarding the charitable agencies or projects they wish to benefit.
Incorporated in 1972, CPI administers a variety of employee benefit plans including 401(k), 457(b), 403(b), profit sharing, money purchase, and common remitter and payroll services. CPI serves more than 3,600 clients nationwide with plan assets under administration of approximately $5 billion. The company has more than 400 employees.
With assets over $8.6 million, the Golden Belt Community Foundation has been assisting donors with their charitable giving goals and working with area non-profit agencies since 1996 in an effort to build better and stronger communities in Barton, Pawnee, Rush, and Stafford counties.
