Dale Masden, a veteran field technician with H & B Communications and an Ellinwood resident will retire after 33 years of service.
During his time with H & B he has seen many changes, dating back to the days when plain old telephone service was a standalone service that was delivered over buried copper and bringing us to a triple play of high speed internet, IPTV, and state of the art telephone service.
Masden was instrumental in the construction and deployment of the coaxial plant that delivered cable TV services beginning in 1982. As he retires, he will hand over the reigns as the caretaker of H & B’s thousand plus miles of buried fiber optic plant, having protected it from excavators of all types since the day the fiber was buried.
A reception will be held honoring Dale’s years of service from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 at H & B Communications, 108 N Main St, Holyrood.
