Sunflower Electric Power Corporation announced that Donald Wilson Jr. has joined the company as a substation technician apprentice in Harper.
Wilson joined the company on Feb. 29. He will assist with the installation, inspection, testing and repair of substation equipment including power transformers, load tap changers, high voltage circuit breakers, switchgear and various electronic systems with the majority of the duties involving working with alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) circuits between 48 and 600 volts.
He will also assist with compliance testing and documentation.
