Doula Agency reaches families in rural Kansas

Nestled in your little piece of Kansas is a quiet rural hospital with just a few birthing suites. Unless there is cause for concern, or an emergency arises, thousands of babies are born in these rooms each year. Kansas is home to big skies, big fields and fresh babies.
New parents no longer have to look to the big cities for doula support. Mid Kansas Doula Services opened its doors in January of 2016. Specializing in providing rural Kansas families with professional labor and postpartum services, MKDS is proud to call Kansas home.
Co-owners Katie Marcum and Michele Silsbee understand what it is like to grow up in rural America. Driving half an hour or more to the nearest Target is just a fact of life says Katie, we wanted to build an agency that brings doulas to the people of Kansas.
Mid Kansas Doula Services prides itself with being willing to travel up to 2 hours to visit clients where they live. “We never expect families to come to us,” explains Michele, “the best part of my job is experiencing the beauty of Kansas and getting to visit new coffee shops all over the state.” There is never an additional fee for travel added to the contract. The company strives to serve clients where few others are willing to go.
Professional doula services are closer to home now and Kansas is grateful for that.
Mid Kansas Doula Services currently provides services to Hutchinson, Newton, Lyons, McPherson, Great Bend, Pratt, Salina, Yoder, Andale, Arkansas City, Hays, Wellington, Wichita and all surrounding areas of Central Kansas.
