Ellsworth Correctional Facility recognized Candita D. Smith for 20 years of employment. Smith began employment with the State of Kansas at Ellsworth Correctional Facility on Dec. 17, 2001, as a Corrections Officer IA. She promoted to Corrections Officer II on April 14, 2002, and to Corrections Specialist I on Jan. 16, 2005. Candita was selected for the Administrative Assistant position in the Records Office on Sept. 24, 2006. On Aug. 22, 2010, Candita was promoted to a Corrections Counselor I and on July 7, 2013, to her current position of Corrections Counselor II, currently named Unit Team Supervisor.
