Great Bend Regional Hospital and the Family Crisis Center have a unique partnership that is beneficial to both organizations.  The hospital sees firsthand the vast need for the Family Crisis Center’s services in our community.
The Family Crisis Center’s mission is to provide advocacy and services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault while encouraging social change through education.  The positive impact they are making in people lives is immeasurable.
Barbara Armatys, president of the Family Crisis Center Board, states, “The partnership between Great Bend Regional Hospital and the Family Crisis Center has truly been a gift.  The community recognizes the support that the Crisis Center provides families in need and we are grateful to GBRH for this relationship.”
Great Bend Regional Hospital partners with the crisis center in many different ways. Several of GBRH employees serve on their board and volunteer at the Family Crisis Center. The hospital is also proud to support two GBRH RNs, Debra Higgins and Misty Nachitgal, that have been trained to perform SANE/SART examines.
Great Bend Regional Hospital is sponsoring again this year Human (e)Motion Event Saturday June 15. Events begin at 7 a.m. to benefit Family Crisis Center. The event will include 25 mile and 62 mile bicycle rides, 5K race, ½ Marathon race, and 2 mile walk. The community’s star athletes, Jackie Stiles and Cameron Chambers, will return to join the event and support a great cause.  All money raised at these events goes to the Family Crisis Center.
This year Great Bend Regional Hospital is also offering a “Color Run” as another fun and exciting way to participate in the activities of the day and raise money for a good cause. Proceeds from the Color Run benefit Great Bend High School Future Business Leaders of America.
Online preregistration for any of the events is encouraged at www.gbregional.com or www.usd428.net.
