GBRH Hosts GBHS Service Day April 27, was Community Service Day for approximately 850 students and staff from Great Bend High School. Great Bend Regional Hospital hosted a group of 12 students as they assembled Welcome to the World Reading kits. In five hours, the students assembled more than 110 kits, each including a book collected in the high schools book drive along with a baby growth chart, a refrigerator magnet, a few sweet treats, and some literature on the importance of reading from birth. The staff in the Women and Childrens Center will give these kits to new mothers who deliver babies at Great Bend Regional Hospital. The community service day is organized by Student Council sponsors Andrea Stalcup and Abigail Sandman and assisted by Kayettes sponsors Connie Claussen and Holly Johnson.
