Golden Belt Community Foundation announces scholarships available for 2013

The Golden Belt Community Foundation has announced scholarships available to students in the Golden Belt area.
Kansas State University Scholarship was established by alumni, both businesses and individuals, in the Golden Belt. Criteria include attending a high school in Barton, Pawnee, Rush, or Stafford counties, a future or current full time undergraduate student at Kansas State University, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The deadline for the KSU Scholarship is March 1st.
Bob and Rosalee Roth Family Scholarship was established by Bob and Rosalee Roth to benefit local students and give back to their community. Criteria include attending a high school in Pawnee County, a future full time undergraduate student at University of Kansas, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The deadline for the Roth Scholarship is March 31st.
Allan V. Miller Family Scholarship was established by the Miller family in memory of Allan Miller who wanted to assist local students pursuing a career in an agriculture field. Criteria include graduating and graduates from Great Bend or Ellinwood High School, a future or current full time undergraduate student at a university, community college, or tech school, with preference given to Kansas schools, a current or past FFA member, and majoring in an agriculture field. The deadline for the Miller Scholarship is March 30th.
Mingenback Family Scholarship was established by the Mingenback family for aspiring health practitioners, which encourages personal and professional commitment to the community. Criteria include Barton County resident, future or current full time undergraduate or graduate student at a university, community college, or tech school, with preference given to Kansas schools, majoring in a health/medical related field, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The deadline for the Mingenback Scholarship is March 30th.
Ryan Hugh Dunlap Memorial Scholarship was established by the Dunlap family in memory of Ryan Hugh Dunlap. Criteria include a graduating Great Bend High School senior, a future full time student at Barton Community College, majoring in the fields of education and/or sports medicine, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The deadline for the Dunlap Scholarship is March 30th.
Paul J. Urban Memorial Scholarship: Criteria include a graduating Great Bend High School senior demonstrating financial need as well as scholastic ability, and good character. The deadline for the Urban Scholarship is March 30th.
Robert William Shewbart Park School Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Robert William Shewbart. Criteria include a graduating Great Bend High School senior with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Preference will be given to those who have attended Park Elementary School in Great Bend with special consideration given to students in sports and students receiving special services. The deadline for the Shewbart Park School Scholarship is March 30th.
Jerome “Jerry” Becker Memorial Scholarship was established by the Becker family in memory of Jerome “Jerry” Becker.  Criteria include graduating Great Bend High School Senior, a future full time student attending a college in the United States, and demonstrating financial need. The deadline for the Becker Scholarship is March 30th.
Kevin Popp Memorial Scholarship was established by the Popp family in memory of Kevin Popp. Criteria include a college sophomore at Barton Community College, Pratt Community College, or Dodge City Community College who will be transferring to Fort Hays State University OR currently attending Fort Hays State University, attended Park Elementary School OR be a current or past member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington, majoring in education, demonstrating financial need, and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. The deadline for the Popp Scholarship is March 30th.
Vida M., Dorothy C., and Vivian M. Archer Scholarship was established by the Archer sisters. Criteria include demonstrating financial need and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Preference given first to Barton county students then to students in the Golden Belt. Applicants cannot attend a technical school. The deadline for the Archer Scholarship is March 30th.
