Gorditas Yoli Mexican restaurant recently moved to 3106 10th St. in Great Bend. It is owned by Yolanda Perales and Veronica Perales.
For close to a decade, the family-owned restaurant was located in the little red brick building about seven blocks away and on the other side of the street. That got to be too small and the new location became available after Great Bend Taco closed in February after serving Great Bend for nearly four decades.
Dine-in or carry-out dishes make it suitable for those who like to have lunch in a hurry.
Gorditas Yoli features a menu of Mexican entrees and desserts – including gorditas – cooked the way Yolanda learned from her mom growing up in Mexico.
Artist Whitney Hayden from Houston, Texas, was in Great Bend this week working on a mural at the corner of 10th and Washington and mentioned that she has enjoyed the food here. (So far, she’s eaten at Gorditas Yoli, Perkins and The Page.)
The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. It is closed on Monday. The telephone number is 620-400-0201.
