Realtor members giving back to their communities and participating in local events has been an ongoing effort for the Great Bend Board of Realtors for many years. They have given both individually and as an association. Some of the organization that have benefitted from such giving are: KANS for Kids, Special Olympics, Family Crisis and Kansas Honor Flights to name a few. The quarterly giving project has selected the second quarterly recipient as The Humane Society. The local Humane Society received $1,000 to help with their ongoing mission. As the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection organization, The Humane Society of the United States has been a leading voice for animals for more than 50 years. They believe in a truly humane society, and work to reduce suffering and create meaningful social change for animals in every way possible -from providing direct care and response in the field when animals are in crisis, to working with corporate leaders and lawmakers to adopt policies preventing animals from ending up in distress in the first place.
More than 100 years ago the National Association of Realtors was established and since that time members have helped people find the housing they want and need by placing customer’s best interests first and lobbying for home owners rights. The Humane Society does the same for animals and the Great Bend Board of Realtors thanks all those that work on a daily basis to protect, house and treat animals in crisis situations.
