Heath Balderston has been named the American Marketing Association Wichita chapter marketer of the year.
Balderston, co-owner of Intake Studios, was recognized Thursday during the organization’s annual chapter luncheon, which took place at the Wichita Boathouse. Balderston, who also was named the top marketer in the organization’s “agency” category, was among a list of four finalists for the overall marketer of the year award.
“Heath has a dedication and commitment to our community,” said Dusty Buell, president of the Wichita chapter. “(Intake Studios) takes an innovative approach to video production, seemingly reinventing themselves with each project.
“Heath is someone that is willing to do what it takes to help out the fellow marketers in this community, and someone you can always count on to do it right.”
The other category award-winners included Ryan Entz (corporate category) of Sasnak Management, Melissa Graham (nonprofit category) of the Sedgwick County Zoo and the iHeart Radio team (media category).
All award winners were nominated by their peers, according to a news release. A committee chose the category winners and the overall winner. Toby Cook, vice president of publicity for the Kansas City Royals, spoke during the luncheon.
A portion of the money raised from the luncheon will be donated to the Miracle League of Wichita, the release said. To learn more about the event or the association, visitwww.wichitaama.org.
Heath is the son of Sharon Lagasse Anglemyer of Great Bend; John and Mary Balderston of Beaver; and the grandson of Mary Garrigues of Great Bend.
