Dorothy M. Ideker

LARNED – The Jordaan Memorial Library of Larned announced on Wednesday the receipt of a $5,000 bequest from the Estate of Dorothy M. Ideker.

Dorothy died Nov. 23, 2018 at the Kinsley nursing home at the age of 101. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Blattner of Rozel, and a longtime resident of the Rozel, Larned and Kinsley areas.

The estate has concluded its primary work and the distributions in the Will were made. Vergie Anderson of Kinsley, who is Dorothy’s daughter, was the estate executrix under the Will. The Larned law firm of Smith, Burnett & Hagerman handled the estate.

Debbie Gore, the director of the library, said the library was pleased to receive the bequest and that she is unsure at this point exactly what the funds will be used for at the library. “We’re grateful to everyone,” Gore said, “especially Dorothy, who keep the library in their thoughts through gifts like these.”
