Ladeska “Decky” Makings, chief operating officer at Sunflower Diversified Services, has agreed to serve as the interim executive director of the non-profit agency.
Debbie Reynolds, who was named executive director last November, is no longer employed at Sunflower, said Travis Thompson, president of Sunflower’s board of directors.
Jim Johnson, who retired as executive director, will serve as an advisor to the board about financial and regulatory issues on an as-needed basis.
“Decky and Jim should be commended for their willingness to help guide us through this transition,” Thompson said. “This is a true testament to their dedication to Sunflower and the people we serve.”
Makings has been with Sunflower in several capacities for almost 24 years. Johnson’s career at the agency spanned more than four decades.
Sunflower serves infants, toddlers and adults with developmental disabilities and delays in Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties. It is in its 51st year.
