As far as James Weatherman knows, he is the only technician in the area that has earned the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification and CCNA Security credentials.
Weatherman, who recently earned these credentials in Dallas, works in the service department at Office Products Inc. The technician also is currently pursuing further education in networking and security.
“This Cisco certification represents proficiency in networking security and set up,” Weatherman said. “This refers to securing our customers’ computer networks by making it more difficult for hackers to get into their systems.
“While this security service is designed mainly for medium to large businesses, anyone can call us about it,” Weatherman noted. “Customers can learn how it might help them in their businesses.”
Weatherman, who has been at OPI seven years, also recently completed online courses and testing in Hutchinson for Comptia A Plus certification.
“This training focused on computers,” Weatherman said. “The certification demonstrates an understanding of computer operations and repair. This shows once again that OPI will offer the best education possible to its service technicians.”
In addition to these new technical skills, Weatherman also has years of experience with copiers, printers, wide-format machines and shredders.
