HOISINGTON — A unique store in the area, Pretty Pieces Boutique, 118 N. Main, will be opening Sept. 18 in downtown Hoisington, specializing in women’s clothing for those who conceal/carry guns.
They will sell conceal/carry purses, which have a special compartment for a gun, non-traditional holsters, compression shirts and shorts, corset holsters, and sports shorts that have a holster. The corset holster pushes the gun into the body so that it can’t be seen.
“The purses are specially made for a weapon,” said Pam Hickel, co-owner and manager. “You’ll always know where (the gun is) at.”
They will also carry Muddy Girl camouflage apparel, shirts and hats, and rifle bags.
Prices will range from $2 to $100 in sizes small to 2X.
They will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.
They will also carry some stun guns and pepper spray in four different colors.
The business is also owned by Becky and Greg Armstrong.
“There is no place  locally to find concealed/carry clothing,” for women, said Hickel. They wanted a comfortable environment to purchase this type of clothing.
They will have a dressing room to try on the clothes.
Additionally, items from local artists will be offered. These items include homemade soap, lip balm and jewelry made from ammunition. Hickel said the jewelry, made from spent ammunition, looked attractive.
