Since beauticians play an important role in their clients’ lives, staff members at a local downtown business recently were recognized for their efforts, said Susan Williams, salon and retail coordinator at Renue Salon, Spa & Fashion Boutique.
Renue observed Beautician’s Day June 26 when stylists received gifts of Naked Bee body products.
“It was great to recognize our stylists for a number of reasons,” Williams said. “They want to ensure our guests receive the personal service they deserve. Stylists sometimes work rather odd hours because we do our best to fit everyone in to the schedule.
“Beauticians build relationships with our guests and talk with them about a little bit of everything,” she continued. “They count on us and we want to be here for them. It was rewarding for all of us to celebrate Beautician’s Day.”
Those honored were Allene Owen, Evann Newton, Angela Liebl, Lisa Linsner and Kelsey Deist. They have female and male clients.
Most stylists are attracted to cosmetology because they “get to meet people from so many walks of life,” Williams commented. “Stylists have the honor of helping guests feel more confident in themselves after getting their hair styled or nails done.”
Williams also noted that if for some reason, a client’s regular stylist is unavailable, any one of her colleagues can step in.
“All our beauticians have very high standards,” Williams said. “If someone can’t be here, I am confident that Renue’s other stylists can handle the job with the same care and good results. There is a lot of combined experience here.”
Each stylist is a licensed cosmetologist and some have an area of expertise. “They are always learning from one another,” Williams commented.
Renue, 1419 Main, offers all hair-care treatments; face creams; lotions; facials; manicures and pedicures; nail polishes; body wraps; hot-stone and deep-tissue massages; two tanning beds; waxing; and infra-red sauna.
