Great Place to Work and Fortune magazine have honored Americare Senior Living as one of the 2021 Best Workplaces in Aging Services. Earning a spot means that Americare is one of the best companies to work for in the country.

River Bend in Great Bend is a member of the Americare Senior Living family of communities and participated in the national survey.

The Best Workplaces in Aging Services award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 220,000 current employees at participating companies across the country. In that survey, 80 percent of Americare’s employees said Americare is a great place to work. This number is 21 percentage points higher than the average U.S. company.

“We are so grateful for our dedicated employees who have made us a part of this list for 2021,” said Clay Crosson, president and chief operating officer for Americare. “Our people make working at Americare communities across the Midwest a truly special experience every day. We celebrate and thank them for all they do to earn this incredible honor, especially as we complete this challenging last year and a half.”

The Best Workplaces in Aging Services list is highly competitive. Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture, selected the list using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they are a Great Place to Work-Certified™ organization.

Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.

Among the statistics in which Americare employees rated the company highly ian the survey are:

• 91% of employees say my work has special meaning: this is not “just a job.”

• 87% of employees say when I look at what we accomplish, I feel a sense of pride.

• 86% of employees say I feel I make a difference here.

• 85% of employees say people here are given a lot of responsibility.

• 85% of employees say I’m proud to tell others I work here.

“We are incredibly proud of The Best Workplaces for Aging Services. They fought bravely and saved countless lives during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dr. Jacquelyn Kung, CEO of Activated Insights, the partner of Great Place to Work in senior care. “Years of research has shown how great workplaces contribute to lower employee turnover and better quality of life for seniors. These honored workplaces showcase the compassion and stories behind the research. Our biggest congratulations and appreciation go to these awardees.”
