Rosewood Ranch, a 900-acre full-working horse ranch, in Pawnee Rock, that offers equestrian and therapeutic riding classes to people with developmental disabilities, has been awarded a grant for $1,950 by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Via Christi Health.
Rosewood Ranch recognized the need to offer its services to children with developmental disabilities, and for nearly a decade, hippotherapy (therapy on horseback) has been offered free of charge. The grant from CMN Hospitals will help underwrite the cost of hippotherapy sessions for approximately 13 children.
Therapeutic riding has been shown to be beneficial for children with a wide range of cognitive, physical, and emotional conditions.
