During the holiday season, Dawson Jewelers Designs By Dana and Great Bend Regional Hospital teamed up to help brighten the day for patients receiving cancer treatment. Dawson Jewelers donated $2,000 to Great Bend Regional Hospital for the hospital to distribute directly to patients. Gift Certificates and poinsettias were purchased to present to patients receiving care.
“It is so rewarding to see our community take an active role in partnering with us in supporting our patients during such a challenging time. A special thank you goes to our grateful patients receiving this compassionate gesture.” said Bob Bilak, Chief of Human Resources.
Dawson Jewelers Design By Dana spearheaded the project. When asked why this endeavor was important to them, Diana Dawson responded, “The reason why Dana and I chose Great Bend Regional Hospital is because of the dedication of the physicians and staff at Regional hospital. Knowing firsthand what type of care that the hospital and physicians provide, I assured myself that I would “payback” in kindness what Regional has done for me and my family in crisis. As for why I chose patients that are receiving treatment is because there is not one person in Barton County that isn’t affected by cancer. As for myself I have a few friends, going through treatment now. I know that with Great Bend Regional Hospital’s administrator Pam Chambers and physicians they would make sure that the $2,000 would be used wisely and given to the people directly in Barton County. It was very important that the money stayed locaL”
