Great Bend Community Coordinator, Christina Hayes, her intern Madison Debes and Dainty Darlings Boutique owner Renee Skinner have collaborated to coordinate a fashion show at 6 p.m. Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Clayton Moses Memorial Band Shell in the Barton County Courthouse Square.
The show will highlight fashions and accessories from Thirsty Thursday’s businesses along with specialty items from Summer Street Stroll vendors.
“This friendly fashion show is a fun way of showcasing what the stores and vendors have to offer.” Skinner said, “We came up with the idea to show out homemade items and worked with Christina Hayes and Madison Debes in order to get everyone involved on Thursdays evenings.”
Thursday evenings this summer, the square has been bustling with the Summer Street Stroll Farmers Market. The event, held Thursdays from 5-8 p.m., features 21 vendors, selling a variety of items, such as fresh produce, homemade items, art and more. While downtown, citizens of Great Bend and surrounding towns can also shop late with various stores extending their hours to participate in Thirsty Thursdays.
“Thursdays are a great time to Explore Great Bend with Thirsty Thursdays, the City Band and Summer Street Stroll,” Hayes said. “It’s all small ways that gives the locals opportunities to see what the city has to offer.”
