SALINA — Sunflower Bank is celebrating its 125th birthday with special events, gifts and by giving away $1,892 commemorating the year the bank was founded.

The bank was originally founded as Farmers National on May 24, 1892. It opened its doors with $100,000 of capital, deposits of $101,096 and loans equaling $295. Today, Sunflower Bank has $1.9 billion in assets, deposits of $1.5 billion, and loans totaling $1.5 billion.
