The Union Pacific Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Saint Francis Community Services (SFCS) to help support the recruitment of foster and adoptive homes throughout the 75 Kansas counties SFCS serves.
Saint Francis recruits partners from within local communities to provide secure and loving foster and adoptive homes for children in need with the intention of keeping children near their home community and local support systems.
SFCS will use the funds to recruit and train 50 new foster and adoptive families over the next year, with a focus on finding families near each child’s home community.
“We are deeply grateful to Union Pacific for their generous funding,” said Foster Care Recruitment Manager Vicki Cain. “This grant will enable our recruiters to engage with families and recruit stable and safe temporary care for children in need.”
